[MAP]
Shakespeare's powerful language evokes a brilliant world of wonder, magic and romance where resolution and reconciliation take place through the revelries of midsummer night. One of Shakespeare's most accessible works, this piece has been interpreted by some as a light-hearted frolic and by others as a somber meditation on sexual politics. At its heart, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a play about love and marriage, but more importantly, it is a play about the imagination.
The cast features SCSC favorites Michael Hart, George Dinsmore, Bobby Bloom, Brittany Lewis, Ruth Glowacki and Hunter Bolton, in addition to a host of fresh new faces. The production represents the directorial debut of Sara Blanks.
Come join the South Carolina Shakespeare Company in this enchanted forest, where all things are possible, where identities dissolve, strange shapes and creatures abound and where love - the greatest emotion of all - is at turns painful, confusing, and wondrous.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and military, and $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door. For more information, call 803.787.BARD.
